Meet Lisa

Lisa Rill, PhD

Executive Director

Hi, I’m Dr. Lisa Rill. Throughout my career I have been committed to making a positive impact on the care and quality of life for older adults. I started as a Geriatric Social Worker and a Direct Support Professional for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their community.

I then received a Ph.D. in Sociology with a specialization in aging and health at Florida State University. During my time in graduate school, I taught classes in Sociology and Aging, interned at AARP, delivered food for Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at the local senior center.

After graduate school I worked as Research Faculty for the Claude Pepper Center on Aging at Florida State University. My research focused on various social issues of aging with an emphasis on improving quality of life for people living in long-term care settings. I volunteered my time as an editorial board member for the Certified Senior Advisors Journal, a Steering Committee member for the Florida Pioneer Network, and a member of the Florida Pioneer Network Provider and Consumer workgroups. I’m also a Certified Eden at Home Associate/Mentor.

Today, my role as UX researcher and content designer at Rill Insights & Design enables me to fully utilize my passion and expertise in the aging industry by helping companies build products and services for older adults (and for the compassionate individuals providing care) that improves their quality of life. I also continue my service to the community as the Executive Director of Senior Life Source, by providing educational panels on aging issues.

Outside of Work

In my spare time I enjoy traveling with my husband and dog (Sir Shwaggy), creating 3D printing parts for cosplay, travel, wild animals, and learning to play the bass guitar.
